I believe this gate weights in at over a ton. Although it’s not the biggest gate we’ve worked on, that goes to the Veterans Admin diesel storage gates that I believe are blast proof. They are huge. They used DoorKing 9500 gate operators. Those motors were 3 phase 10:1 gear reduction with a #100 chain.

Anyway this gate is clad inside and out with 4/4 ipe and is over 20 ft long. The drive chain on this Liftmaster IHSL 24 UL is a #50 stainless steel chain. The operator is mounted on a MGO custom stainless steel base.
